Successful First day

25 Feb by Coach Stacie Nowak

Great job, everyone! 👏 The first day of practice was a huge success across all age groups! A special shoutout to our Junior Academy crew, who were in great hands with Coach Stacie, assisted by our awesome parents and returning assistant coaches, Diego and Al. The little ones got started with the basics—practicing toe taps and moving the ball from left to right. After that, they had a blast with a fun game of Red Light, Green Light!

Then, each group split up for some focused learning. Some kids worked one-on-one with Coach Stacie to master passing, while others practiced shooting with Coach Diego. To top it off, they had a chance to do friendly 5v5 scrimmage, giving everyone a chance to put their skills to the test. Of course, we couldn’t end without a little fun—everyone had to “catch the coach” before heading home!

For our 8+ crew, the day brought a little twist by separating into boys and girls groups. Coach Tony worked with the boys, and Coach Whitney worked with the girls. It was a perfect reminder that with the right coaching and a willingness to learn, we can all improve and grow together. No matter what age the child is or level of skill.

Let’s not forget our U17 group, they came out strong at 6:30 PM, ready to start the day with a 30-minute warm-up with Coach Scott. They worked on stretching, movement, and ball touches to get their bodies ready. After that, Coach Stacie took over and focused on teaching the girls how to defend, how to look up, open up, and the importance of one-touch play and accuracy.

They finished the day strong with a 4v4 scrimmage to wrap up their practice.

Lastly, a huge thank you to Tacos El Gordito for coming out and supporting our first day back, especially on a normally scheduled day off! Your presence made the day extra special.

Let’s keep pushing ourselves to grow, support each other, and have fun every step of the way. Here’s to many more great practices and accomplishments ahead! Keep up the great work, team!

Ps.
A huge thank you to Catalina Connell for helping with the check-in process until Chloe Talan could take over the payments! Your hard work means so much to us. If you still need to make a payment, Chloe will be at the fields on Wednesday.
